Urgent Call For Support: Walk for Ukraine 20-24th August 2022
Five days. Five million steps. Five million displaced Ukrainian children. £5000 for humanitarian aid
Walk For Ukraine is a 5-day event that is both symbolic and with critical real-world impact.
Purpose:
1. Keep Public Awareness High:
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has not stopped. And the daily tragedy facing millions of Ukrainian children is ongoing.
2. A Symbolic Walk: Take 10,000 steps or as many as possible.
Imagine this: Ukraine has 7.3 million children. 5 million or over 68% are now refugees or displaced
Make each step symbolise one of the five million Ukrainian children who have lost everything.
We want to hit a target of five million steps in 5 days
3. No Minimum Fundraise
But we kindly ask that you share your fundraising page or donate to help us reach £5000 for our nominated beneficiary, The Vinnytsia Technical College. They are using their premises as a shelter and humanitarian aid post for those fleeing the frontlines just a few hours away.
4. 24th August Ukrainian Independence Day > Deeply Symbolic: "Happy Birthday Ukraine!"
Post a picture of your walk, a landmark or even a Ukrainian dish with a message of strength and hope. Let’s show Ukrainian children that we have not forgotten them. We will send suggestions closer to the day, which could include making a simple Ukrainian dish or a picture with a message of hope
